Well, this week I'm 6 months (so starting the third trimester!), and Mack's room is finally finished. I had a pickle of a time deciding what art to put on the walls. I wanted to do something myself, but my artistic skills leave something to be desired. After shopping around a lot, I realized I wasn't going to be able to find anything that matched what I already had going on as far as the patterns I was using...so, I combined an idea I had with some advice from Denise and Josh and created some art using fabric I had already used in the bed, crib, and curtains. Denise told me not to use more fabric (as that would attract dust mites), so I coated canvases with fabric and then poured resin on them to make them shiny like actual artwork. I am very happy with how they turned out, and have also found a few items at Bed, Bath, and Beyond to complement the other walls as well. Below are all the walls and the art they have. The only thing left is a space for Aunt Nicole's cross-stitch!
This is the bookshelf I bought; it doesn't match the other furniture as well as I'd like, but it's fine...Mack certainly isn't going to care!
This is the space between the closet doors. I found these white flowers at BB&B and loved them!
This is Mack's name with a few flowers thrown in for good measure.
And this is a shot of the artwork on the wall with the bed. You can see some of the glare from the light on the resin, which gives you a good idea of how shiny they are.
