So, this past weekend was my fifth MS150...that's 150 miles on a bike for two days to raise money to cure Multiple Sclerosis. This year was especially memorable because my best friend rode with me. So did her husband and his dad. I was the odd man out on that Hobson greatness, but I held strong. For those of you that knew I do this, I usually partake in the Bike to the Beach (San Antonio to Corpus), but was finally able to do the local one (Frisco to Ft. Worth). Not a true 150 miles if you drive it, but they weave you around north a while to make up for it. For those of you in Denton, thanks for the support, but we didn't pass through Denton so there was no way for you to come out and wave. Now, if you'd have driven to Krum...
This ride is far superior to the San Antonio ride. For one, it's not nearly as hilly. For another, it's not 12 hours in a car over a weekend book-ending 150 miles of bike riding. The negatives of the ride were the 50 miles in the rain on the first day and the 40 mph gusts on day two. Oh, and Nicole's knee going out on the first day and causing her to limp for the rest of the weekend. Otherwise, it was awesome. Matt loved the camping at the Raker house (i.e., being able to sleep in a real bed and wash our clothes as opposed to sleeping at the Speedway).
For all those who supported us financially or emotionally, thank you very much! It was a fantastic ride and a wonderful opportunity. Until my knees go out, I'll be doing this for many more years to come!
